Safety standards are applied
to all poultry products imported to the United
States, as well as produced in the United States.
Poultry products must meet or exceed these safety
standards in order to reach the U.S. consumer.
Poultry from countries with confirmed cases of
H5N1 HPAI cannot be imported into the United States.
Poultry that is properly handled and cooked is
safe to consume.
